Several Fort Walton Beach streets are set for resurfacing beginning Monday, Aug. 10, as the City of Fort Walton Beach works to improve road conditions across multiple areas of the city.
According to the city, a contractor will begin resurfacing work at five locations. Work is weather dependent and is expected to take approximately one to two days at each location.
The streets scheduled for resurfacing are:
- Alabama Avenue, near the apartment complex at Williams Street and Alabama Avenue
- Baggett Place, from Cedar Avenue to Cowrie Avenue
- Linstew Drive
- Kepner Drive, from Okaloosa Road to Choctawhatchee Road
- Okaloosa Road, from Kepner Drive to Hollywood Boulevard
Work is expected to take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The city is asking residents and property owners to remove vehicles and other obstructions from the right-of-way and immediate work areas during those hours, unless otherwise notified.
The resurfacing schedule is subject to weather conditions, meaning work could be delayed or adjusted if conditions are not suitable.
The City of Fort Walton Beach said it appreciates residents’ patience and apologized for any inconvenience caused by the work.
