Niceville Police Chief David Popwell released the latest information on last night’s shooting. Here’s the latest:

According to the release Niceville PD put out Saturday afternoon, Niceville Police were called to 1118 John Sims Parkway (an address near the Oak Creek Shopping Center) for a disturbance call.

When an officer showed up on scene – he found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The person died on the scene.

While police began to investigate, another call came into dispatch claiming that two individuals with gunshot wounds were currently at Lake Court and Palm Boulevard. Officers made it to the scene and found one person dead and another person with a non-life-threatening wound.

The wounded person was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. They are in stable condition right now at the hospital.

Police can confirm that the shooting occured in the parking lot of 1118 John Sims Parkway. The second scene is just where bodies were dropped off.

“There is no threat to the public at this time,” the Release said. “Leads have been developed and evidence has been collected that identify persons of interest.”

Victims’ names will not be released until the next of kin of the dead are notified.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, State Attorney’s Office, Medical Examiner’s Office and Valparaiso Police assisted with the investigation.
