The Emerald Coast Chamber Music Festival (ECCMF) announced lineup of concerts for the 2024 season. This annual celebration of classical chamber music, promises an immersive musical experience for both seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
ECCMF Co-Artistic Director and internationally acclaimed viola soloist, Jacob Clewell, expressed excitement about the festival’s programming for 2024; he noted, “This year’s festival programming is enticing, I think, because we’re showing off music from composers we’re mostly familiar with, but not necessarily the music we know them for.”
The 2024 festival concert series will showcase the ECCMF Artist Faculty in exhilarating performances featuring works by renowned composers such as Brahms, Mendelssohn, and Beethoven.
However, what sets this season apart is the inclusion of less familiar yet equally captivating composers like Florence Price and Masatora Goya. This blend of familiar favorites and hidden gems promises a rich and diverse musical experience for attendees.
One of the highlights of the 2024 season is the second Showcase Concert, scheduled for May 25th, where the Artist Faculty, along with guest artist Kirsten Yon on violin, will present a mesmerizing performance.
What makes this event even more special is that it offers free attendance, providing a perfect start to the Memorial Day weekend celebrations.
The festival’s finale will feature the Young Artists of the Chamber Music Institute, showcasing the exceptional skills of classical music’s next generation.
These young performers, selected through competitive auditions from top music schools across North America, will demonstrate their talent and passion in an afternoon of captivating chamber music.
ECCMF is renowned for its impressive roster of internationally respected Artist Faculty and masterclass Guest Artists. These musicians not only deliver exceptional performances but also contribute to the educational aspect of the festival by teaching college-aged students at the Chamber Music Institute.
Public events for ECCMF 2024 will run from May 19th to June 2nd, offering a two-week extravaganza of musical delights. Most concerts will take place in the intimate and acoustically brilliant Tyler Recital Hall at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center of Northwest Florida State College.
Tickets for ECCMF concerts are available either free of charge or for a nominal fee of $10, depending on the event. Interested attendees can purchase tickets through the Mattie Kelly box office and website.
