Emerald Ball Raises $160,000 for NICU Unit

The Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation's Emerald Ball successfully raised nearly $160,000 for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, showcasing community support for pediatric healthcare. Held at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, the gala featured fine dining, dancing, and entertainment by Mr. Big and the Rhythm Sisters."

The Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation announced its Emerald Ball raised almost $160,000 to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast in Miramar Beach. 

 

The Emerald Ball, held at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa on April 6, provided an evening of fine dining and dancing. The revelers were treated to the band Mr. Big and the Rhythm Sisters. 

 

Presented by Howard Group, Grand Boulevard Sandestin Town Center, and Silver Sands Premium Outlets, the black-tie gala attracted a diverse array of supporters, all united in their commitment to enhancing pediatric healthcare services in the region.

 

Adrienne Maygarden, President of the Sacred Heart Foundation, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, stating, “The Emerald Ball raised critical funds that will directly benefit every child and family relying on our community’s only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This special place of hope and healing is making a difference in the lives of our youngest, most vulnerable patients and will make kids better today and healthier tomorrow.”

The Ascension Sacred Heart NICU, designated as a Level II facilityplays a vital role in caring for infants from Walton, Okaloosa, and surrounding counties. 

 

Since becoming the sole NICU provider in the tri-county area, the hospital has witnessed an influx of families seeking specialized services, including infants requiring advanced care. Notably, the NICU’s capabilities have expanded to accommodate babies born as early as 10 weeks premature and weighing less than three pounds.

 

In addition to its NICU services, Ascension Sacred Heart is widely recognized for its exceptional maternity care. The Family Birth Place consistently earns national accolades as a top maternity hospital.
