Fort Walton Beach (Nov. 3, 2025) — Eglin Federal Credit Union has named Gerta Hardy, Member Service Supervisor at the Eglin Branch, as its 5-Star Performer for the third quarter of 2025. The quarterly award recognizes employees who exemplify the credit union’s five core values: Respectful, Trustworthy, Dedicated, Proactive, and Engaged.
Hardy, who joined Eglin FCU in 2014, was nominated by a colleague for her leadership and dependability during a particularly difficult period for the branch. Over the summer, Hardy and her team continued serving members despite staffing shortages and days without air conditioning. According to her nominator, Hardy maintained operations, coordinated multiple departments, and kept morale high while continuing to deliver consistent service to members.
“Every day, she brings energy, focus, and a sense of unity to our team,” said Branch Manager Nikki Quimby. “Her dedication keeps us motivated and connected. Gerta is truly exceptional — the definition of a 5-star employee.”
The 5-Star Performer Award is part of Eglin FCU’s employee recognition program, designed to highlight staff members who go above and beyond in service, teamwork, and professionalism. Employees are nominated by their peers, who submit written accounts describing how the nominee demonstrates the organization’s values.
Hardy’s colleagues described her as a steady presence and a motivating force. Her ability to adapt, take on additional responsibilities, and lead with professionalism earned her praise across multiple departments. In her current role as Member Service Supervisor, she oversees daily branch operations, supports team development, and helps ensure a positive experience for members.
Hardy’s career with Eglin Federal Credit Union began more than a decade ago. She joined as a part-time Teller in February 2014 and was promoted to full-time Teller in 2015. A year later, she became a Member Service Counselor, a role that expanded her experience in member relations and account management. She spent time at several locations — including the Eglin, North Crestview, and South Crestview branches — before being promoted to Member Service Supervisor in 2023.
In her remarks, Hardy expressed gratitude toward her colleagues and pride in the team she leads.
“I truly love my team and the company I work for,” Hardy said. “It means so much to me to lead such an incredible group — they genuinely make my job easy. It’s an honor to represent Eglin FCU. With the new Eglin AFB branch on the horizon, we’re excited for what’s ahead. Get ready for Team Eglin!”
