Niceville’s Bamboo Sushi and Hibachi location received a little bit of cosmetic damage after a driver crashed into a sign for the massage parlor next door, drove through a bush and crashed to a stop at the black metal fence surrounding the restaurant’s outdoor seating.
Employees at the restaurant said no one was injured as a result of the accident, which took place in the early afternoon of October 19th.
Niceville Police Chief David Popwell told Mid Bay News that the Okaloosa County EMS staff suspected the driver, an elderly woman, had what he called a medical episode which caused the crash. Popwell says she was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.
By the time Mid Bay News arrived to the scene, two patrol cars were still in the area, but the car involved in the crash had moved. Employees were wrapping caution tape around the busted fence.
