Mayor Whitten Joins National Foreign Policy Summit

Mayor JB Whitten traveled to Washington, D.C., to take part in a national foreign policy summit connecting local leaders with federal officials to address how global events shape city-level challenges.

Crestview Mayor JB Whitten joined more than 30 mayors from across the country in Washington, D.C., for the Mayors Foreign Policy Summit, a two-day event hosted by the Council on Foreign Relations and the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition. Whitten said the meetings with national policymakers and members of Congress offered valuable insight into how global issues directly affect Crestview and provided an opportunity to voice the city’s concerns at the federal level.

Scholarships Announced for Top Students in PR and Communications

The Emerald Coast Public Relations Foundation is offering multiple $1,000 scholarships to local seniors pursuing careers in PR, communication, marketing, or journalism, with applications due March 16, 2026.

The Emerald Coast Public Relations Foundation will award several $1,000 scholarships to high-achieving seniors in Okaloosa, Walton, and Santa Rosa counties who plan to pursue degrees in public relations, communication, marketing, or journalism. Supported by local sponsors including Eglin Federal Credit Union and longtime PR professionals, the program continues the Foundation’s mission to grow the next generation of communicators along the Emerald Coast.
