The Mattie Kelly Arts Center (MKAC) Galleries at Northwest Florida State College (NWFSC) announced the upcoming 2024 Arnie Hart Juried Student Show and Fine Arts Faculty Exhibition.
This celebration of artistic talent showcases the creativity and dedication of both students and faculty members in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts & Humanities.
The event, named in honor of Arnie Hart, a pioneer in the College’s ceramics program, will feature a series of student workshops, a guest judge, and a curated display of selected student artworks. According to a release from the college, the exhibition’s highlight will be the grand finale on Thursday, April 4, 2024, starting at 6 pm, with a reception, awards ceremony, and special performances.

Mrs. Jean Hart’s generous donation, made in memory of her husband Arnie Hart, who was instrumental in shaping the College’s ceramics program during his tenure from 1966 to 1999, continues to support the Arnie Hart programming.
This year’s guest judge is Pavel Amromin, a renowned Ceramics artist and Gallery Director at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, adding an extra layer of expertise and perspective to the exhibition.
The opening reception on April 4 from 6 to 8 pm will provide an opportunity for attendees to meet the Fine Arts faculty members and celebrate the achievements of this year’s student artists. The event will feature an opening remarks session at 6:15 pm, student awards presentation, and a performance collaboration by Assistant Professor of Dance Vanessa Kanamoto and Skylar Smith, Assistant Professor of Voice.

The event is open to the public, and admission is free. Attendees can enjoy delicious food while immersing themselves in the vibrant world of artistry showcased at the MKAC Galleries.
