The Niceville Eagles Football Team has left town for their Final Four matchup against the Lakeland Dreadnaughts that will take place on Friday, December 6, 2024.
The football team boarded two green Astro charter buses out of Tallahassee to make the six-and-a-half-hour trip from Niceville High School to Lakeland High School in the center of the state.
More than 1,000 Niceville and Ruckel students – along with hundreds of adults – lined Old Coastal Highway to see off the team.

At the end of a long drive that separates the two schools – Niceville Fire Department engines sprayed their water cannons above the departing buses – a tradition that has existed since the late 80s, according to Fire Chief Tommy Mayville.
The team will play their game against the nine-time state champs Friday at 6p central time.
