Drew Palmer enlisted in the United States Air Force and has worked in the defense industry ever since. The Texas native came to the Emerald Coast on an assignment several years ago and never left.
Palmer got involved in politics by working as an operative for Republican causes and figures like Matt Gaetz.
In his day job, Palmer works as a site manager for Lockheed Martin on Eglin Air Force Base.
Palmer pre-filed to run for Destin City Council, but dropped out of that race to run for Okaloosa County Commissioner for District 5 in April after current Okaloosa County Commissioner Mel Ponder announced he would step down at the end of his current term in November 2024.
