General Overview of Collegiate High School

Northwest Florida State College is a post-secondary institution in Niceville, Florida, which also offers high school students an opportunity to earn both a high school diploma and an associate’s degree by the time they graduate from high school.

The school was established in 2000, and has received an A rating every year since from the Florida Department of Education. Collegiate High School was named the best school in the State of Florida in 2003, 2010 and 2011. Technically, the school is a charter school of the Okaloosa County School District – much like Destin High School or Okaloosa Academy

99% of students who graduated from Collegiate in the class of 2022 earned an associate’s degree from Northwest Florida State College in addition to their high school diploma. While at collegiate – students have their pick of more than 250 classes the college offers.

Collegiate High School is free to attend for students. Students can use the same free benefits as other students, including free parking, and free admission to athletic events, cultural events and arts events.

Students who are accepted into Collegiate, as it is commonly referred to, spend their sophomore year in a mix of college and honors coursework. After their 10th grade year – the students plunge full-time into college-level coursework.

Students from Okaloosa, Walton and Santa Rosa Counties can all apply for this rigorous program which regularly sends students to prestigious colleges and universities such as Duke, Notre Dame, the Air Force Academy, Georgetown and Villanova.
