The City of Niceville’s Police Department saw an increase in arrests as 2022 drew to a close. The department made a total of 33 arrests – more than one and a half times the number of arrests that take place in a typical month in Niceville.
While DUI arrests (2) stayed about the same as average for the rest of the year – both misdemeanor arrests and felony arrests increased significantly through the final month of the year.
Niceville Police officers also saw the highest number of requests for service in December: about 4550 calls were routed to officers – roughly 146 per day.
Car crashes remained stable for December. A total of 51 accidents took place within city limits, according to Niceville Police Chief David Popwell.
