The Mattie Kelly Arts Center has new inspiration from the East (As in Tallahassee) for you to see at their gallery in Niceville.
“Campus Life,” an exhibition made up exclusively of painter Dr. Nan Liu’s works depicting college campuses, are on display for you to see for free! Dr. Liu is a traditionally trained Chinese painter and contemporarily-trained American portrait painter. Dr. Liu teaches drawing and painting at Flordia A&M in Tallahassee.
Half his works use ink and watercolor on paper he buys up when he goes back to China to visit family. The other half of his works are large oil paintings on canvas. Students and colleagues posed for the paintings – which highlight the beauty of life on college campuses.
You can join the opening reception on January 27th at 6-8 pm at the 📍Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries on the campus of Northwest Florida State College. A musical performance by Dr. Haiqiong Deng, a music instructor at Florida State University, on the Gu Zheng will accompany the opening.
The exhibition will run from January 27th to March 31st from 10a-4p – as well as 90 minutes before most mainstage performances.
The exhibition is free to the public.
