
Alright spooky szn connoisseurs, we’ve made it to the week before Halloween. As you can imagine, there are plenty of local places in Niceville and Valparaiso going all out to celebrate with candy. So, we’re making as complete a list as we can for you, so that you can go out and enjoy the weekend in costume.
All of these events are kid-friendly, and we’ll add more as we find them.

Niceville Police released what they are calling ‘official trick or treat’ hours for this Halloween. According to the department, the hours will take place in the city from 6-8 pm on Halloween. Valparaiso and Unincorporated Okaloosa County (which includes places like Bluewater Bay) have not yet set ‘official’ Trick or Treat Hours.
Mid Bay News sponsor 3rd Planet Brewing has a two-night celebration of Halloween coming up. On October 29th, the microbrewery will host a party featuring Clinch 46.
Sunday, October 30th is kids paint day, starting at 12pm. In the evening, you can attend the Murder Mystery night by the Improbably Cause Mystery Theatre. They are doing a rendition of Rocky Horror Show – the cult classic sequel. Doors open for the evening event at 7:00pm.
Bluewater Bay Marina hopes to have you come out to their Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 30th from 3-6pm for a Haunted Hollywood Halloween.
A $10 registration fee will go toward Furbulous pet adoption and rescue. You’ll be able to meet, greet and adopt a pet!
Kids in costume will get to eat free with an adult food purchase. Adults in costume will get a free domestic draft or house wine.
Contestants will vie for votes in the decoration contest as well. You can stop by during the week from 8a-5p in order to register early as well.
The Gulf Breeze Zoo hosts the last weekend of its ‘Boo at the Zoo’ extravaganza. The zoo will host kids and adults for Trick-or-Treating, a bounce house and face painting. No word on whether or not the animals will have costumes.
Boo at the Zoo takes place from 10a-5p on both Saturday, October 29th and Sunday, October 30th. Tickets for members are $9 a piece. Last admission on both days takes place at 4pm.

The University of Florida’s 4-H Facility, Camp Timpoochie will host a Friday night of Fall fun just over the Walton County line on SR-20.
The camp will open its doors to visitors on October 28th starting at 4:30 PM and wrap up at 7:30 PM. Participants will get to go from cabin to cabin around Camp Timpoochie in a quest for candy. Entrance to the event is free and donations are appreciated.
The One Blood Bus will have an on-site presence, so that you can give blood and save a live while you are on campus!
The Camp will announce its summer 2023 dates and raffle off free registration for a week of camp. Tickets are for a suggested donation of $5 for one ticket and $20 for five tickets.
Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Church will host its annual Trunk-or-Treat on October 30th at 5pm.
Crosspoint Candypalooza will take place on Sunday, October 30th from 10:30 to 11:00 at the chruch’s Niceville location. The church asks people to join them for candy and costumes, so long as they are friendly.
Looking to max out your trunk or treating around the Mid Bay area? Eglin’s Trunk or Treat takes place this halloweekend as well. Eglin’s Trunk or Treat will take place on base at Postl Point Friday, October 28th, starting at 5pm.
The two-hour event, which is free for all who have base access in the area, will feature hay rides, carnival games and rides as well as food trucks.
