NICEVILLE, Fla. – The City of Niceville has announced it will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new dock and pier at Old Town Landing on October 6 at 10:00 a.m. The structure is the first completed component of the city’s multi-phase Niceville Landing Rehabilitation Project, an ongoing redevelopment plan for the area.
According to the city’s announcement, the project was financed through a combination of public funds. Funding sources included the Niceville Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), Okaloosa County Tourist Development funds, and a Florida Boating Improvement Grant administered by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
In a prepared statement, Mayor Daniel Henkel said the project is an investment that will bring more activity to Old Town Landing and create new opportunities for local commerce. Henkel, who also sits on the CRA Board, credited the various agencies for making the project financially possible.
The event is open to the public.
