EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – The Air Force Medical Examiner has positively identified the body found in a burned car Sept. 23 at Range Road 234 and Lewis Turner Blvd.
The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old female Senior Airman Tamera Moniq Bolden-Cleckley from Boerne, Texas, who was assigned to the 96th Surgical Operations Squadron.
“Senior Airman Bolden-Cleckley was a valued member of the 96 Test Wing team, and we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and fellow Airmen during this difficult time,” said Col. Chris Keithley, 96th TW commander. “We remain committed to supporting those affected by this loss and encourage anyone who needs assistance to reach out to any of our helping agencies.”
An Eglin AFB employee found the car on the morning of Sept. 23 and notified law enforcement. Both Okaloosa County Sherrif’s Office and the 96th Security Forces Squadron patrols responded. The scene was immediately turned over to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.
The intersection of Range Road 234 and Lewis Turner Blvd is not on Eglin AFB main. However, it is part of the Eglin Test and Training Range Complex, which is Department of Air Force federal property.
“It is with a heavy heart that I share the loss of Senior Airman Bolden-Cleckley, one of our teammates. During this incredibly difficult time, I want to extend my deepest condolences to Tamera’s family, friends, and all those who knew and cared for her,” said Col. Daniel Micsunescu, 96th SGCS commander.
The Air Force and local helping agencies are providing counseling services and support to everyone affected by the tragedy. Family and friends will be offered resources through the Air Force’s Casualty Assistance Office, the Air Force Employee Assistance Program, and the Chaplain’s Office to help them navigate this difficult time.
Bolden-Cleckley entered the Air Force in 2021 and was assigned to the surgical squadron as a diagnostic imaging specialist (radiology technician).
AFOSI is still investigating the incident, and no further information will be released at this time.
