NICEVILLE, FL – The Doolittle Institute has announced a call for volunteers to staff its local FIRST LEGO League Challenge events for the 2026–2027 season. In a press release issued this week, the organization said it needs community members to fill a variety of roles for the youth robotics competitions, which are scheduled to take place on unspecified dates throughout the season.
According to the announcement, the program asks students to research topics related to biodiversity and then design and program LEGO robots to complete challenges. The institute is seeking volunteers for both technical and non-technical positions, including judging, event operations, and general support. The time commitment is Friday afternoons for event setup and Saturdays for the competitions.
The organization says it needs both STEM and non-STEM volunteers and that many roles require no prior experience with the program. It also says it will provide training where needed, though the release did not include details on the extent of that training.
