Golden Hour for Good: Popular Wine & Fries Event Returns to Destin

DESTIN — Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida will bring back one of its most popular annual fundraisers this summer as the nonprofit hosts the 9th Annual Wine & Fries event in Destin.

The event, themed “Golden Hour for Good,” is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Alice in Destin.

Organizers say attendees can expect waterfront views, wine tastings, local craft beverages, food from area restaurants and caterers, live entertainment, auction items, and opportunities to learn more about the organization’s mission.

Wine & Fries has become a signature fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida, helping raise money to support families whose children are receiving medical treatment away from home.

Guests will be able to sample McDonald’s signature French fries alongside offerings from local food vendors, including Salty Pop Popcorn, Camille’s at Crystal Beach, Bella Donna, Just Think Cake, Sauce Boss Burger Co., Swiftly Catered, and The Board Babes.

Beverage partners include Wine World, Cafe Thirty-A, Lawless Brewing, Palm Folly Hard Seltzer, Grayton Beer, The 30A Company, and Salty Beverages.

Live entertainment and event experiences will be provided by a variety of local partners, including The Typos, Entertainment Ignited, Lady Basil, Blown Away 30A, Events Styled by LUXE, Southern Lit Events, B and C Event Planners, Edward McGrath Photography, SunQuest Beach Weddings, and Savannah Coates.

The event is presented by Costa Family McDonald’s, Emerald Arches McDonald’s, and O’Connor Family McDonald’s. Additional sponsors include Moorhead Law, Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast, Stansell Construction, Cox Communications, H/L, Martin Brower, Sandlot, Eglin Federal Credit Union, and Florida Power & Light.

According to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida, proceeds from the event help reduce financial and logistical barriers for families whose children are battling illness or injury. The organization provides housing, support, and resources designed to keep families close to their children while they receive medical care.

Tickets are $115 and are available online. Organizers say sponsorship opportunities are still available for businesses and organizations interested in supporting the charity’s mission.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida has served families across the region since 1984.
