Crestview man arrested on trafficking, firearm charges after drug task force raid

CRESTVIEW A 39-year-old Crestview man was arrested July 11 after law enforcement recovered fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, a firearm, and drug paraphernalia during a narcotics search at a home on Terrell Drive, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

 

Javaris Dawsey faces multiple felony charges, including trafficking in fentanyl (4 grams or more), trafficking in methamphetamine (14 grams or more), possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon, obstruction of a search warrant, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The search warrant was carried out at 103 Terrell Drive by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Drug Task Force, a unit that includes members from the Fort Walton Beach, Crestview, and Niceville Police Departments.

The investigation resulted in the recovery of significant quantities of illegal drugs and a firearm, contributing to trafficking and weapons-related charges against Dawsey, a convicted felon.

The arrest is part of the Task Force’s ongoing efforts to target narcotics distribution and reduce violent crime across Okaloosa County. No additional arrests were reported in connection with the search warrant.
