Every month, we’re teaming up with Road Dogg Rescue to introduce you to a local pup looking for a second chance. These dogs aren’t broken, they’re just running out of time.
Road Dogg Rescue pulls animals from overcrowded shelters across the region, many of whom are days away from euthanasia through no fault of their own. Most are affectionate, playful, and great with kids and other pets. They need someone to give them a shot.
That’s where Homeward Hounds comes in. Each month, we’ll spotlight one of these dogs and share their story in hopes of finding them a forever home. Want to help a dog go from kennel to couch? Meet this month’s featured pup below.
Pancho isn’t just another pretty face, though his goofy underbite and expressive eyes certainly help him stand out. At just 7 months old, this bully mix has already learned how to walk on a leash, make dog friends, and win over just about every human he meets.
He’s spent most of his puppyhood with Road Dogg Rescue.
A happy, high-energy pup, Pancho thrives in the company of other dogs and enjoys being part of a pack. He’s been around kids and does well with them. However, his puppy play can include some excited mouthing, so older children would be a better match for his current energy level.
Pancho’s a quick learner, eager to please, and always down for an adventure or a snuggle. Whether he’s exploring the neighborhood or lounging nearby, he’s happiest just being with his people.
He may have started life behind shelter walls, but Pancho’s ready to move on — to couches, backyards, and the loving family he’s been waiting for.
