About Mid Bay News' Collin Bestor

Collin started his journalism career during his senior year in college where he entered motorsports journalism, covering prestigious racing events such as the Snowball Derby. 
 
After graduating in 2019, Collin began working at The Ticket Sports Network in Fort Walton Beach, where he started as a board operator, before moving his way up the ladder, eventually hosting his own show.
 
In 2020, Collin became a credentialed member of NASCAR Media Group, covering the ARCA Menards Series and NASCAR XFINITY Series. In 2023, he began working as a reporter for the Northwest Florida Daily News until June 2025.
 
He graduated from Milton High School in 2013 and attended Pensacola State College and The University of West Florida, graduating with an Associates Degree in Journalism and a Bachelor’s Degree in Film/TV/Radio. During his time at UWF, he was a member of the Delta Eta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Mu. 
 
 
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Emily and dog, Baymax, spending time at a local race track and spending his free time on iRacing.
