The Shalimar Police Department has charged Former Okaloosa Jails Director Nolan Weeks with impersonating a public official after an interaction on March 26, 2025.

Despite the filed felony charges, The Okaloosa County Jail shows no record of an arrest for Weeks – their records show he is not a guest of the jail at this time.

According to an affidavit obtained by Mid Bay News, Shalimar PD claimed Weeks failed to yield the right of way to the funeral procession and continued to travel with the funeral procession. When the Shalimar Police officer confirmed with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office funeral detail that the truck was not with the procession, they initiated a traffic stop.

When the officer approached Weeks, the former jail director displayed a “gold star Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Badge in a badge wallet,” but didn’t provide the officer with any other identification or his name.

The Shalimar Police Officer says in his affidavit he then explained why he pulled Weeks over and asked him what area he worked with the OCSO in. The officer then said Weeks told him “both, south end, sgt.”

After the stop ended, the affidavit says an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant asked if the officer pulled over Nolan Weeks. Because the Shalimar Police Officer didn’t get identification on the stop – he looked Weeks up in his in-vehicle system. After seeing his photo, he confirmed that it was Weeks to the Lieutenant and that Weeks claimed he was with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

The police officer says the Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant informed him that Weeks wasn’t with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

On March 24, Shalimar’s Chief of Police, Michael Jacobs, verified that Weeks was no longer with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office as of November 2022 and wasn’t with a law enforcement agency.
