🎓 Fort Walton Beach High School senior William Kiker has made national history by winning the Incubate Debate National Championship for the second time — the first student to ever do so.
Fort Walton Beach High School senior William Kiker has done what no one else has in Incubate Debate history: win the national championship twice.
Kiker secured his second national title at the 2025 Incubate Debate National Championship in Sarasota, Florida, where top student debaters from 10 states faced off on five hot-button topics — including immigration policy, NATO involvement, and the structure of federal agencies. In the final rounds, Kiker debated the future of the Department of Education and the Department of Government Efficiency.
“Winning Nationals once is hard. William Kiker has just done it twice — the first time in Incubate history,” said Incubate Debate Founder James Fishback. “He’s a brilliant young man with an incredible future ahead of him.”
Okaloosa County Superintendent Marcus Chambers also praised Kiker’s achievement: “William’s dedication to debate and his commitment to excellence are truly inspiring. His ability to think critically, articulate his ideas, and compete at the highest level sets an incredible example for students across our district.”
Incubate Debate’s mission is to prepare young Americans for leadership through civil discourse and critical thinking. Kiker’s accomplishment is not just a personal victory — it’s a major moment for Fort Walton Beach High School and the entire Okaloosa County School District.
