Niceville Police arrested Niceville High School Math Teacher Linda Kay Brasher on April 8, after they said she assaulted and battered her boyfriend.
According to the arrest affidavit, Niceville Police responded to a call at a home in the city. When they arrived, they were told by a man on the scene that he and his girlfriend had been arguing for “the last few days.” During a part of the argument that day, the alleged victim passed Brasher in the hallway of the home, and Brasher pushed, punched, and kicked him – then told him to leave the house.
Niceville Police say Brasher declined to provide a written statement but did say she made a “spontaneous utterance” (police-speak for ‘she said’) that she had pushed the alleged victim. Police then said she went on to tell them that she told the victim to get out of her house.
Police then read her Miranda Rights and she asked for an attorney. The officers then took her to the Okaloosa County Jail in Crestview.
In a statement to Mid Bay News, Okaloosa County School District Public Information Officer Catherine Card said Brasher “is a contracted teacher at Niceville High School. The incident occurred after school hours and is non-school related.”
Brasher, released on her recognizance by the Okaloosa County Jail, has an arraignment hearing on April 30.
