FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — A Saturday night crash along one of Fort Walton Beach’s busiest corridors left a motorcyclist dead, according to police.

Officers with the Fort Walton Beach Police Department responded to the scene around 8:05 p.m. on April 4 in front of Dodge’s Southern Style along State Road 85.

Investigators say a black Maserati Ghibli, driven by Tyler Martin of Fort Walton Beach, was traveling southbound when the driver attempted to turn left across northbound traffic. At the same time, a motorcycle operated by Levi Elmore was heading north in the center lane.

The two vehicles collided, ejecting Elmore from the motorcycle.

Despite wearing a helmet, Elmore was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel.

The Fort Walton Beach Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate the crash. No additional details have been released.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information to contact Investigator D. Ordoqui at 850-833-9546.
